Bishop Dennis R. Pitts, Sr.,

Our Pastor Bishop Dennis Pitts has been preaching the gospel since 1973. He has served as Senior Pastor of New Covenant Church of God in Hickory, NC since 2003. As Senior Pastor, Bishop Pitts has a heart for Jesus, and for telling people about God’s love.

Our pastor serves as District Overseer of Burke-Catawba District for nearly 2 years before merging with Caldwell District. The two became the Foothills District, consisting of 15 churches. He has been the District Overseer for a total of 10 years. He currently serves on Western North Carolina Church of God State Evangelism Board. He has served consecutivly 29 years on WNC State Boards, including the Youth & Decispleship Board and the State Counsil.

Bishop Pitts is married to the former Melody Wood of Whittier, NC. They have two children, Dennis Pitts Jr and Carrie Dietrich. Dennis Pitts Jr is a Firefighter having served in Louisiana at different departments for 18 years and North Carolina for 2 years up to the present. Carrie is an Ordained Minister and her husband Matthew is an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God. Carrie serves as Music Director and Administrative Assistant at New Covenant Church of God. Matthew currently serves as Assistant Pastor. Bishop Dennis and Melody Pitts are the proud grandparents of a beautiful granddaughter.
